Teen Dating Violence

One in three teens experience some form of abuse from a dating partner. Yet, 80% of parents don’t believe it is an issue and only 33% of teens in an abusive relationship seek help. We must do a better job of educating our youth, parents, staff, and community members to stop teen dating violence.
Workshop Objectives
Learn a common definition of teen dating violence.
Identify students most at risk of being victims or perpetrators of teen dating violence.
Understand how protective factors can provide students with school connectedness.
Understand how teen dating violence relates to school climate and culture.
Learn strategies to prevent teen dating violence.
Learn how to gain support from all involved – administration, staff, parents, students, and community members.
Leave with resources for classroom activities, school policies, and building-wide strategies.
