Integrated Technology - 21st Century Skills Matter!

the Integrated Technology Program at Smoky Hill Education Service Center

From cell phones to iPods, iPhones to now iPads, desktops to laptops, netbooks, slates and interactive whiteboards, we’ve seen a huge number of new technologies take the stage in the first couple decades of the 21st Century. The wise use of instructional technology and technology tools in the classroom can increase student interest, enable true problem-based learning and collaboration, and enhance and improve student performance.

The focus of the Integrated Technology Program at Smoky Hill is to enable teachers to focus on the pedagogy of using available technologies as Higher Order Thinking Tools in the curriculum to increase student learning.  While teachers are taught technology skills, these skills are practiced within the context in which the technologies will be used by teachers and students in the classroom.

21st Century Skills are important to the success of your students and educators. Contact Sharlene Ramsey, Coordinator of Integrated Technology (sramsey@smokyhill.org) or Chris Moddelmog, Associate Director (cmoddelmog@smokyhill.org) for more information about our program.
