ABOUT US

A Message from our Executive Director
Chris Moddelmog
I am honored to be serving my 11th year as Executive Director of the Smoky Hill Education Service Center, and I am even more honored to be a part of the extraordinary team here. Every single one of our staff members is tireless in their dedication to supporting our teachers and school administrators as they strive to provide the best education possible to the next generation of Kansans. For me, the best part of service agency work is being able to provide solutions and services to school staff members that allow them to educate students more effectively.
Our entire purpose for existing is to help you, today’s educators, in any and every way we can. Please contact us with any questions about the services we offer, or if you are not sure if we can assist you with a particular challenge. If we can help, we will find a way!

The Organization
Organized on July 1, 1990, the SHESC is a consortium of more than 50 school districts in 25-counties, formed to cooperatively provide a variety of educational services to its participating members in a more cost-efficient and beneficial manner.
The Governance
A Board of Directors - composed of one board member from each of the SHESC "clusters" (a group of Charter school district members) - governs the Smoky Hill Education Service Center. A Superintendents Advisory Council advises the Board of Directors.
